Ritish Maram
I recently enrolled in M.S. in Biomedical Engineering program at GWU. I graduated from Manipal Institute of Technology (India) with a degree of Bachelor of Technology in Biomedical Engineering in July 2021. Currently, I am working with Cameron and Andrew at Dr. Loew’s lab on texture features. I am interested in understanding the role of texture in medical images and also learning recent developments in biomedical signal processing, and applied time series analysis.

Sanjori Mukherjee
I am enrolled in the M.S. program in Biomedical Engineering. My research interests lie in the application of medical imaging analysis in cancer detection and neuroimaging. I’m currently working with Destie on segmenting lesions for diagnosis and risk stratification of prostate cancer. I have previously worked on biosensor signal analysis for the detection of infectious disease at my undergraduate institution.

Destie Provenzano
I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. I am primarily interested in the applications of machine learning to medical imaging data. My current research focuses on (1) the use of machine learning for the diagnosis and risk categorization of prostate cancer, and (2) cybersecurity of MRI data. I previously worked on the prediction of disease from fMRI data, the automatic detection of blood flow occlusion from video data, and application of machine learning to genetics.

RyeAnne Ricker
I am a 3rd year Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. My research interests lie in the area of using machine learning to explore microbiological phenomena. I have two research areas. The first of which focuses on coupling machine learning and Raman imaging for the diagnosis and characterization of respiratory viruses. The second uses machine learning to explore the relevance of the breast tumor microenvironment in patient outcome. My previous research, while working for the Division of Disease Control at the State of Washington, was on the method development for the rapid detection of various bacterial species for use in outbreak response.

Dipon Roy
I’m currently a Masters student in the department of Biomedical Engineering. My research interests lie in cancer biology and medical imaging. My current work at Loew Lab involves in the medical imaging techniques and early detection of cancerous tissue and understanding the difference between normal & tumorous tissue and tumor micro-environment at the cellular level. My previous research involved understanding the boiling characteristics and thermo-fluid properties of nanofluids through both experiment and computational methods and its possible applications in industry.
